BluffTitler Gallery Help

This page explains how to use the BluffTitler online gallery.

BluffTitler

This gallery requires the BluffTitler application. At any time you can download the latest version here.

How do I play and download a gallery animation?

For articles that offer a Play Animation link, perform the following steps:

  • Click Play Animation
  • Choose Open in the dialog that follows
  • If your browser asks if you trust BluffTitler to open the file answer Allow
  • The BluffTitler player will now start and run the animation
  • You can store the animation on your harddisk by choosing Settings > Tool Window followed by File > Save Show + All Media Files...

If this does not work, you can use the following method:

  • Right click Play Animation and select Save Target As...
  • Save this .bt file onto your harddisk
  • Double click this .bt file
  • The BluffTitler player will now start and run the animation
  • You can store the animation on your harddisk by choosing Settings > Tool Window followed by File > Save Show + All Media Files...

Google Chrome does not automatically open .bt show files: after downloading a show file (by clicking on the Play Animation link) it appears in the downloads bar at the bottom of your tab. You can start the show by clicking on it.

For articles that offer a Download Media Files link, perform the following steps:

  • Click Download Media Files
  • Save this .zip file onto your harddisk
  • Unzip the .zip file
  • Find and double click the .bt file
  • The BluffTitler player will now start and run the animation

Associate .bt files with BluffTitler

The BluffTitler installer teaches Windows to associate .bt show files with BluffTitler. This makes Windows automatically start BluffTitler when you double click on a .bt show file (or click on a .bt file in a web browser). If this does not work you can teach Windows this association yourself by performing the following steps:

  • Find a .bt show file on your harddisk. With the default installation folder you can find many in the c:\Outerspace Software\BluffTitler\Media\Shows folder.
  • Right-click on this .bt file, select Open With, click Choose Default Program and select BluffTitler.exe. With the default installation folder you can find this executable in the c:\Outerspace Software\BluffTitler folder.

Next to double clicking the .bt file, you can also play the show by dropping the .bt file onto BluffTitler's render window or by using the menu item File / Open Show...

Storing the media files

You can place the gallery shows anywhere you like, but we advice your to store them in a folder outside the c:\program files folder. For example: d:\BluffTitlerGallery.

Reloading the animation

You can reload an animation by pressing F5 in BluffTitler.

Clearing the cache

BluffTitler has its own internet cache. To clear the cache choose Settings > Internet Option and press the Clear Cache button.

Use the latest version

If BluffTitler refuses to run the animation or does not run as it should, make sure you're using the latest version. At any time you can download the latest version here.

Missing media files

Sometimes artists forget to include textures or other media files resulting in an error message when opening the animation. Please do not get mad when this happens. Instead give a good example by including all media files the next time you upload an animation.

To prevent copyright issues, fonts are never included.
