Bragina, jopin, Ulli and 4 others like this!

You probably have noticed that recently pretty much every article received 5 Bix icons. To fix this, the system has been changed.

The 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 point links have been replaced by a single LIKE button.

And the number of Bix icons that is displayed no longer represents the average rating, but instead the number of likes.

So if you are the first clicking the like button, the article is rewarded with 1 Bix. And when 5 (or more) users have pressed this button, 5 Bixs are displayed.

All old 3,4 and 5 ratings have been converted into likes, making the new system immediately effective. You can see that the number of Bixs is now evenly distributed. Hopefully this makes the rating system more useful.

Personally, I'm not a fan of turning everything (or anything for that matter) into cloning the functions of Facebook. Especially when opinions are reduced purely to 'off' or 'on'.

Good luck with it though. Gallery is a great resource for a great program regardless.

Yeah viddy, some better system might be a good idea. I agree the old system wasn't really working, but then I'm not sure this one does. It depends on what you are after, I don't think this article is worth 5 bixes. I would prefer to be able to see at a glance if an article had example data, or if its "only" a video.
