NextPreviousHomeMissing KF markers?

The following has happened twice so far today and it has me puzzled. It takes longer to describe than to do, but please bear with me.

I placed several KFs in the Point Light layer, for changing the colour of my text title. After successfully teting that, then I made the colour the same at all of them but left the markers in place in case I needed them later. I then used a second KF in the Text layer colour property to change colour instead (at the same point on the timeline as one of the previously created Point Light KFs, if that matters). I *think* that created a second marker but I'm not sure now. It certainly enabled the colour change intended. But a minute later I found *no* second marker in the Text layer. Yet the animation is still correct. How can that arise please? There's just the one marker yet the colour is changing as if in response to a second marker.

It seems as if BT doesn't create a new marker in layer B if there's already one in layer A? In support of this speculation: when I then deleted the KFs and their associated markers in the Point Light layer, the colour animation was lost.

When loading a show, BluffTitler simplifies the show by removing unnecessary keyframes.

For example when you create a layer with 100 identical keyframes, 99 of them will be removed.
