Some character combinations are a perfect match. They can be slided very nicely into each other.

The classic example is AV: the right side of the A perfectly matches the left side of the V. This way they can become very intimate.

Another example is 69, or as the French say soixante-neuf.

The process of adjusting space between characters is called kerning.

In the font dialog (F6) you can choose 2 kerning methods. With OPTICAL KERNING BluffTitler computes the kerning and with METRIC KERNING the kerning stored in the font (as defined by the font designer) is used.

The Alien Alphabet font has many surprising kerning pairs, I have shown a few in the above screenshot.

This font comes with the installer, can be found in the BLUFFTITLER/MEDIA/FONTS folder and can be selected by pressing the SELECT BITMAP FONT button in the F6 dialog.
