This effect turns your picture layer into a Chinese fan.

Apply the effect to your picture layer by choosing MEDIA > CHANGE EFFECT...

Use the FX MORPHING STAGE property to fold/unfold the fan.

Thanks to liuyongcai for the idea. I hope this effect is useful for your project.

Thanks for this excellent effect. but excuse me for that matter, the picture is not within of fan, where is my mistake?

jeablu, 8 years ago

I can adjust the picture by acting on the "FX Texture size" property, but the image is adjusted either height or width, set not both; the picture is not adjusted completely in the contour fan limit, why?

jeablu, 8 years ago

Because a fan is not a rectangle.

You can move the image with the FX TEXTURE POSITION property.

Together with the FX TEXTURE SIZE prop you can place the image anywhere you like in any size.

FX Pompon (fan Pendant) 1. Plus transparency effect 2. Add DoubleSided effect, even more perfect! Trouble you, michiel Hooray!

I love the Fan, great idea and thanks. How can I remove the yellow 'pompon'? I see I can only change the color. Im new to bluff but still learning.

lightads, 8 years ago

The yellow pompon can be made invisible by setting the FX TAIL TRANSPARENCY property to 1.

This property has been introduced in version 12.2.0.4. The effect can be found in the Media\Effects\Picture folder.

In this new version the tail also always hangs down, no matter the rotation of the fan.

As always the latest version can be downloaded from the download page:

I love the fan so much and am using it in project. What is the optimum size and dimensions for the texture to avoid distortion ?

lightads, 8 years ago

Thank you lightads!

When the FX MORPHING STAGE prop is set to 1 there is no distortion: the picture is rendered in the correct aspect ratio.
