The text flies in from the right and crashes against the left side of the screen.

Thanks to Rico for the request!

Superb effect, thanks Michiel

I think it's the gradient background and the mirror effect that does the trick: it's the web 2.0 look.

In BluffTitler, a gradient background can easily be created with the plasma layer (choose LAYER / ADD PLASMA LAYER... and select for example the ORANGE GRADIENT preset)

A mirror effect can be added by pressing the CHANGE EFFECT button and selecting the COMPOSITIONS / WATER.FX or REFLECTIVE WATER.FX (This animation uses an improved version of the reflective water effect)

Splendid. I wonder when I'll be able to set up something like this by miself!. Thanks a lot.

Fantastic Effort. You are a genius !!

I love this effect, but when I try to change text position, I find that the last letter (r) seems to be locked into position & size. So, for example, when I wanted to add a key one second later and move the entire text off screen, the "r" wouldn't move.

by Dick, March 26th 2009 | 19:19

The r does move, only it has a delay of 1 second.

When the first letter (B) crashes against the left side of the screen, it takes 1 second before the last letter (r) feels the pain. There's a "crush zone" of 1 second: everything that happens to the first letter also happens to the last, but only a second later.

This done by setting the first slider of the FLEXIBILITY property to 1. If you want to animate the whole text at the same time you have to set this property to 0.

Note that when selecting the FLEXIBILITY property, the ALL KEYS checkbox is automatically marked. If you would like to change this property during the show, you have to unmark this checkbox, or otherwise you will be editing all keys at the same time.

More info about this complex, but powerful FLEXIBILITY property can be found here:

Michiel, As always a quick and informative response. The info about FLEXIBILITY is great -- I played around with each example.

When I modified and saved this on my desktop, I used nice blue-colored [coloured ;)] text. When I copied the BT file to my laptop, the text was white although the sliders for COLOUR were set for the blue. I can't get the text color to change on the laptop.

Maybe de graphics card of your laptop does not support pixel shader 2.0. Select the text (layer 5) and press F9 to find out.

One more lesson learned! That is exactly the problem.

I am learning form all your comments, but I have a question ?
When I apply a particle layer with a water reflective Water Fx, the particles have a black surround. What do I do ?

by Jean Pierre, May 23rd 2010 | 19:02

You need an effect file that combines additive blending with a reflective floor.

DPACK_Additive.fx does the trick.

It is used for example by this template:
