The BluffTitler browser seamlessly integrates texts, pictures, streaming videos and 3D models using a wide variety of realtime 3D effects. It features a built-in editor that can be turned on/off at any time with the menu item Settings / Tool Window.

A typical BluffTitler IPTV application has the following components:

• A streaming video background
  BluffTitler uses Microsoft's DirectShow technology to play streaming videos over the internet. DirectShow decoder filters are available for all major video formats including AVI, WMV, MPEG and MOV.
  
• A TV station logo
  This can be a transparent PNG or TGA file. It can also be a film strip, a second streaming video or even a spinning 3D logo!
  
• A banner
  It's possible to add a hyperlink to the banner to offer the user additional info about the product.
  
• A chat game
  Every 10 seconds a new message is displayed.
  
• A scroller
  The scroller is capable of showing RSS news feeds.
  

With BluffTitler you can add dynamic content on top of a streaming video. This has the following advantages:

• The content is personalized
  The scroller text and the banners that are displayed can be adjusted to the viewer's taste.
  
• The content is relevant
  A banner and video to match!
  
• The content is server side manageble
  An example can be seen at the bottom of this page.
  
• The content is interactive
  All components are clickable.
  
• The content is up-to-date
  Content can be updated at playtime.
  

BluffTitler offers a client side IPTV solution. This means that the streaming videos, texts, pictures, scrollers and other components are not mixed at server side into a single stream, but instead composed in realtime at client side. This approach has the following advantages:

• Razor sharp "uncompressed quality" texts and other vector graphics on top of streaming videos.
• Server side content can be mixed with local and private content.
• You do not require fat, expensive servers.
• Personalized content does NOT require extra server power.
• Content can be downloaded and mixed from various sources without copyright issues at server side.
• A client side solution makes the user feel he's in control.

Mark the menu item Control / Looping and press the Play button. You can manage the content with the following form:

If your mobile phone supports GPRS you can change the chat name by pointing the web browser on your mobile phone to:

http://www.outerspace-software.com/php/iptv.php?T5=XXX

where XXX is the chat name. For real applications you might want to handle SMS (text) messages.

All dynamic content is stored in an XML file at this location:

http://www.outerspace-software.com/iptv/demo.xml

When you press the above Change Content button, this XML file is changed.

A BluffTitler show file can use the information stored in this XML file. For example if you want your text layer to use the content of the name tag, select the menu item Media / Change Text and enter the following text:

And if you want your picture layer to display the URL of the logo tag, select the menu item Media / Change Texture and enter the following URL:

xml:http://www.outerspace-software.com/iptv/demo.xml?top/logo

The demo uses a heart beat of 8 seconds. This means that the XML file is reloaded every 8 seconds. If anything has changed the show is updated accordingly, resulting in for example a new banner or chat text.
