persiana, Pioneer, LostBoyz and 3 others like this!

Here's my personal opinion: BluffTitler is a visual effects app and video encoding is beyond its scope. Video encoding is the task of your NLE/video editor. For this reason BluffTitler should only offer export as uncompressed. This works perfectly in my favorite video editor: Magix VEGAS!

The reality is however more complex:

For a quick social media post it would be nice if you could immediately upload the result, without having to waste time importing and exporting the result in your video editor. For this reason we offer export as MP4.

However, the built-in Windows MP4 encoder (Media Foundation) is not very good. For this reason we also support external encoders, like FFmpeg: www.outerspace-software.com...

The smaller file size is great, but the MP4 format does not support transparency and some apps, like DaVinci Resolve can't handle uncompressed transparent AVIs. For this reason we also offer QuickTime MOV.

But some other apps like Adobe Premiere can't handle MOVs using the QTRLE codec. For this reason we also offer the ProRes codec.

On top of this article you can see screenshots of the FILE > Export as video... and the Drivers tab of the SETTINGS > Options... dialogs of the latest beta:

We really hope this serves all your export requests. If you have any comments, please post them here. Thank you!

My work flow is usually to export with Lagarith Lossless Video Codec and then either compress with handbrake or import to NLE

Grooves, as far as I know there's no 64 bit version available of the Lagarith codec, so unfortunately this will no longer work in the 64 bit version of BluffTitler: www.codecguide.com...

The purpose of this article is to discuss issues like this and help each other with alternatives.

Have you already tried the 64 bit beta?

Michiel, you made my day! This is so awesome we can choose a codec for output. More over, it makes me feel greatfull since my humble opinion does matter. Thanx a lot. Keep it up!

I had tried the beta, but not exported anything. (The performance boost is great)

You are right, Michiel, Lagarith isn't available in 64 bit Blufftitler. Thanks for letting me know.
I manually re-installed Lagarith, and made sure it installed the 64bit Lagarith.dll file, but not working still.

FFV1 and HUFFyuv available in "ffdshow video encoder" options worked fine as lossless alternatives.

Thanks michiel. yes ultimately image sequences for me works the best as part of the final render in an NLE. BT is looking good and going places. Now is the time during this tight business economy to be progressive and come up with new ideas and a new way of doing things to be able to say ahead in the new markets being created
