Thor5ten, maxste, Ilja and 12 others like this!

In this video I tried to reproduce the foam of the waves on the shore. Not very easy.

Absolutely beautiful scene. I'd love to live there. I have to ask: How did you make the foam?

Thor5ten, a year ago

Merci Patrick. Thor5ten, first i export the top view of island as picture and then i traced the contour with bixelangelo to create a sketch that follows shore. Then i did a lot of tests with the sketch : various textures, particles, plasma but I got the best result with a grainy texture and a light displacement.

Thank you, Vincent. I will definitely try this.

Not easy but you did a fine job. Great show!

Nice results, Vincent.

Why not sketch from displacementmap image. With top view image in blufftitler you get angle distortion. Or do you have more sketchlayers for each part you wanted the foam.

How long to get the sketch too scale around the Island in BT?

With time and effort you created a very nice "sketchy" animation.😊

Hi Alex, I'm an idiot, I didn't think to have bixelangelo draw the outline. i'll try to see if i have a better route of the coast. Thanks for the idea and compliments.

You know me well enough that my intend is not to make you feel like a "idiot" nor is it to pat myself on the back.

But I really miss on this forum/community is helping each other and brainstorm about how to tackle an idea or obstacle.

It is often a question to Michiel to change something or feature request.

I really value our repore on this community and exchange of ideas or just banter without ill will.

So, thank you Vincent.

Thank you Ulli. Then we will be neighbors.

Hello Alex and Michiel, i tried automatic tracing with Bixelangelo (+Potrace) but i can't obtain a lot of better results due to smoothed contours, it seems there is a simplification somewhere by limitation of number of points. In Bixelangelo Save As dialog box i tried many values for Smooth and Max lines per curve but these parameters have no effects on generated sketch (!?).

Wow that looks amazing!

I love lighthouses so I really like the way you did that as well.
