Dani, curt_w, agpvn and 2 others like this!

This effect renders the number as set by the FX NUMBER property. It can be used to create a counter that counts, for example, from 1969 to 2011.

The texture must be a horizontal strip containing the 10 digits: 0123456789. An example texture is included.

Thank you Jim for the request. I hope this is what you are looking for.

Hi Michiel!

I would ask an effect like this to this,

Thank you!

Interesting idea! Question is: which information should control the positions of the equalizer bars? In the current version, FX files don't know anything about audio volumes. Technically this is possible and maybe this can create very cool effects. Like text and picture layers that are dancing to the beat of the music. I am going to think about that!

LostBoyz, in the current version effect files don't know anything about audio volumes. You can create an effect file that renders random values, but this will create the exact same effect as, for example, an animated GIF.

Is it possible to create a "gas pump dial" type animation with a rolling movement using this or some other fx. I need an animated LED font and I wish to have the numbers change colors etc. with some sort of circle fx or other type fx. I want the starting number and ending numbers to be from XML source and speed needs to be adjustable. Maybe starting time and ending time clock. Any ideas how to accomplish this?

XML can only be used to set the texts and pictures. You can't control property values with XML files.

The "rolling movement" reminded me of this show:

Would it be possible to alter this effect so that we could choose how many digits?

If you use it as a countdown there are always going to be leading zeros at the moment.

If we could set the number of digits then we could have countdown from 99 to 0, or 9 to 0

Oh, cool ... these FX files aren't too difficult to understand.

I made myself a 2 digit counter!

It's not sophisticated like Michiel would do it - I just deleted a few lines - but it works for my purpose.
