I would like to create a photo show that would slowly scan across photos as though they were laid out on a surface. For example, 50 photos, strewn across a desktop, at varying angles, with partially overlapping edges. The show would randomly "scan" the desktop to eventually display each picture.

Is there a similar template available, or has such a show ever been done? A search didn't come up with one.

I think this is not difficult to do, it only takes time to create those 50 picture layers and to make the camera layer scanning them all.

Maybe this show can get you started:

Here's a similar effect in the middle of this new ad. I had to put together video clips laid out behind a bottle moving into the frame to show all of the various fruits included in the product. In some cases, such as this one, I find it's easier to build the layers in an editing program such as Vegas. I tested doing all of it in Bluff, but the product ended up being easier to build the videos in Vegas and then use that element as a background in Bluff when I added the product. This may be due to memory limitations in my computers, but when you're on a deadline, you do whatever you have to in order to produce a product as quickly as possible. The client loved the end product.

Nice videos!

I think the 7 videos of jeffo and the 20 photos of maitegras are doable by hand, but creating similar videos with 50 photos can get very boring.

I would create a script to generate the .bt show file for me and make the number of photos a parameter. If you want I can do a quick demo of this technique.

Michiel - What you are describing sounds EXACTLY like what I have envisioned! I have created a "background" in PhotoShop with 15 of the pics, then used camera keyframes in BT to come close. However, after seeing Jeffo and Maitegras' examples, I'm ready to go back to the drawing board.

If you could get me started with a scripted show, that would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Michiel - I know you're busy, but just wanted to put this back on the "front burner"...I would greatly appreciate the quick demo you offered, in order to get me started...when you get time!

Thanks :>)
