I am trying to use Template 6 and am trying to figure out a way to convert an existing text layer to a scrolling text layer and keep all of its existing style etc.

I am referring to LAYER 24: Scroller Middle (text)+ and I want it to scroll like LAYER 19: Small Scroller (scroller)-

I had assumed because LAYER 24 was titled Scroller text that it would actually scroll but it doesn't. I tried creating a new scrolling text layer but don't understand how to have it replace the existing LAYER 24 and retain the existing attributes (position & shape) of that layer. I want to entire layer of text that says "MAYBE ... MAYBE NOT" to continuously scroll.

Attached is a link to the little intro I'm working on for a friend that is announcing that he is wanting to change the name of his YouTube channel.

Layer 24 is a text layer using the CIRCLE 3 style (1st dropdown below the textbox).

You can make it scroll (rotate) by animating the 1st slider of its TEXT ROTATION property.

BTW, giving your avatar the right size is tricky. The model that comes with the templates is a bit too large, just like your friend.

I think this is about the right size. Realize that the avatar is sitting on a chair that is placed on the same floor the desk is standing on.

That worked for me and I did go back and make the guy smaller. I think he'll get a 'kick' out of it :-) . Many Thanks Michiel

Just curious, could an actual continuously scrolling text line , like the small scrolling text on the bottom have been used for LAYER24 ?

No, you can't make the text layer rotate without keyframes.

But you only need 2.

And for a long show simply set the TEXT ROTATION property of the 2nd key to a high value. For example, when using (0,0,0) for the 1st key and (3600,0,0) for the 2nd it will loop 10 times. (10 x 360=3600)

I set the show duration to 30 sec and the text rotation property of LAYER 25 to go from -55 to -420 and that seemed to make it scroll OK.

I tried creating a 'SCROLLER' like LAYER 19 but couldn't get it to curve to match the other text.
