liuyongcai, Tintin, vincent and 9 others like this!

In this video I'm testing the camera layer floating in the water.

This looks like a first person swimming simulator :)

Making the camera float in the water is as easy as selecting the camera layer and marking the LAYER > FLOAT IN WATER menu item.

The same menu item is used to make the 2 text layers and the model layer float.

Yes, it makes me seasick as well so I'm not sure if it's a very useful effect :)

But it sure is a good stress test!

Wait wait wait,

Camera Float in water?!
May I ask.: Can the water.cfx be applied to a sketch layer, so I can attach the camera layer too it?
(1st person view rollercoaster ride made from 3d spline is something that will look great with the new upcoming VR export)

Thank you all for your enthusiastic feedback, can't wait to see what you can do with the water effect!

michiel, 3 years ago

Can you control how rough the water is , like from calm to stormy?

MrGruntHunter, 3 years ago

Yes. The height, length, steepness, speed and direction of the waves can be set with layer properties.

Great !!!

Fantastic!!!! Michiel when can we expect this version...

Dani, 3 years ago

Hi Michiel, if the text float on water can we see the mirror effect on water.
Here text in the middle of the water,if text float on water can we see reflective water effect.
Text , water, and camera move all together what beautiful scene.

Michiel, perhaps I get in august an order for a low budget production, where I shall animate a sail ship in water (storm).

When do you think, are the layers / effects WATER and CLOTH ready?

Designfactory, 3 years ago

Yes, august would be nice.
