NextPreviousHomeSetting out a start point for draw in bixangelo v4 for bluff

LostBoyz, vincent, Tintin and 4 others like this!

Getting the hang of bixangelo ….what I don’t get is setting up a start point. for me it is 0 x y z so in bluff I can do a camera track along path.

Another thing I don’t understand is setting up the path and using draw for camera track . just don’t get it to work.
Can someone please explain how to do this.

Great 3D sketch!

Easiest way to make your camera ride your sketch is to let Bixelangeo create a show for you. Mark the ROLLER COASTER 1ST PERSON checkbox in the FILE > SAVE AS... dialog.

This creates a BluffTitler show file to get you started.

ok thanks michiel so it doesn matter where i start my drawing in bixangelo the 1st person will auto start from there? and then to select that camera eps file how do i apply this eps as a camera path in bluff? thanks so much, bixangelo is awesome

Yes. You can recognize the start point in Bixelangelo by its big circle.

Attach a camera layer to a sketch layer by choosing LAYER > ATTACH LAYER > ATTACH CAMERA TO ACTIVE LAYER...

This creates a 2nd camera layer so you might want to delete the 1st one.

Set the 2nd dropdown of the sketch layer to ATTACHED LAYERS FOLLOW SKETCH. The camera position and rotation are now relative to the tip of the sketch.

The tip of the sketch can be moved with the WRITER prop.

For a roller coaster you typically want 2 sketch layers:
-one that's visible and not animated
-one that's invisible (by setting the PEN SIZE to 0) and animated with the WRITER prop to move the attached camera layer.

Pretty complex, but luckily all this can be fully automated by letting Bixelangelo generate the show for you!

sorry michiel one more thing. if i want to trace from an image a path, for example i want the camera to fly between letters of text so i import a text image and trace the path, save as a 1st person cam path. then in bluff create the 3d text and get the camera to fly that path. so how do i import an image to trace path from that image?

Interesting idea!

I think I would save the BluffTitler show as a picture (FILE > Export as picture...), use this pic to draw the path in a paint app and import the result in Bixelangelo (FILE > Trace bitmap...)
