Since version 15, vector files have thumbnails. For example, when you choose LAYER > Add layer > Add vector layer...

This screenshot shows the EPS folder of BixPack 37 | Wings:
outerspace-software.com...

As you can see, the thumbnails make it much easier to pick the right shape!

To turn on thumbnails, make sure to unmark the USE STANDARD WINDOWS FILE DIALOG checkbox in the SETTINGS > OPTIONS... dialog.
