Can anyone help?
I am using DAZ hexagon 2 to produce simple coloured 3d models (cubes, spheres etc). I also use DAZ Studio 4 to make some models of brightly coloured clothed people.
I export all of these models as Wavefront (*obj) 3d objects and then use Accutrans 3D to convert them to DirectX (ascii)(*X) objects so that I can import them into BT.
When I do this however, all I get is a totally black object without any definition or texture. The object is 3D because I can rotate it and see that it is 'solid'. In addition, I keep getting a message saying 'unable to find ----' either the BT texture or effect that I am trying to use.
I am obviously not doing something right but I am at a loss to proceed.

Place the textures next to the model file and BluffTitler has no problems finding them.

But this will not solve the black colour. This must be a problem with the normals. I believe Accutrans has an option to compute these normals, so I advise you to take a look at Accutrans' user guide to see how you can do this.

Make sure, when exporting from DAZ, to check 'write surfaces' & 'materiallibrary'.
In Accutrans, when loaded for example Victoria, in the layers window, you have possibly to untick the boxes: Eyelash & eyesurface. Both are issues with the transparency-map.
