NextPreviousHomeIdentifying a layer

To try and learn how to use BT, I inspect the Bix Pack templates that I have purchased. Sometimes a layer is an .eps and I have learned to view them in a separate application but sometimes a layer is merely a letter, like 'C', which is probably being used to make a shape. I try switching off the visibility of the layer to identify it but when there are 170 layers it is hard to see which layer is being switched off. Is there a foolproof way of doing this?

Thanks

Mark
