NextPreviousHomeRepeat last action with CTL-Y

Is it possible to have the same function as per say Word where CTL-Y will continue to repeat the last action. For example click on the "reduce - time" button, then be able to keep pressing CTL-Y.
This type of repeat would be really useful.

Why is pressing &ltCONTROL> Y easier than pressing a button?

Can you give few more examples?

I find keyboard quick keys faster than using a mouse, just a personal thing I suppose but once you've got a useful function stored say, setting a layer colour to red you could then select another layer, press control-y and not have to navigate to Colour, select pallet, select colour, click ok.....

Just thought it might be useful.
