Which layer type is using the Clip effect?
For picture layers, switch from SINGLE SIDED to FLAT with the 3rd dropdown below the textbox.
For text layers, try the Text\TextClip effect.

Indeed clip and gradient feather cfx work well with models so double sided could be very useful.

Maybe it's best to make the Clip effect always double sided. This way we do not have to add another prop.
