I know how to duplicate a Layer within a Show, but how do I copy a Layer from one Show to another Show?

There isn't a way to COPY a layer.
What I do is: In the show that has the layer you want to copy, deleted everything else except that layer. Save that show as XXX. Then open your show, then press CTL M and select that XXX show. Your show will now have imported that XXX show. You will now have 2 cameras layers. I think it's the first camera layer you should delete.

Good technique!
3 remarks:
1) When you end up with 2 camera layers you have forgotten to delete the camera layer as well
2) No need to save as XXX. After deleting the layers, press <Ctrl> M and merge with your show. (this swaps source and target so remember which show you are editing when you save the result)
3) The same technique can be used to copy multiple layers (delete fewer layers)
