To make the clouds I exported an explosion/smoke particle as a transparent PNG image (created with BluffTitler).
Then I loaded this image onto a plane that I moved over the animation.

The bright happy colours make a nice contrast to the serious military hardware. I would love to see a fully redesigned helicopter with alternative missiles!
