I think you have to dim the glow option for the model

In version 16.7, the sketch layer is used to render the stick fonts:
outerspace-software.com...

To make the stick fonts look good, 2 changes were necessary:
1) curves are automatically connected when possible. In this example it connects the u to the r. And the a to the n.
2) closed curves do not use the PEN SIZE PROGRESSION prop. In this example this makes the o look good.

As a workaround you could use an EPS of a not perfectly closed circle. I have updated your show to demonstrate how this works.
