Not sure if this is possible with BF, but I have to ask because BF’s toolbox is super impressive.
Is there any way to animate a picture as if it’s being embroidered, and have the final texture look like real embroidery?
I want to create a promo video, and having this effect would be amazing—if it’s possible.

I would google on "embroidered normal map" and use this texture in combination with a colour map and the PBR (physically based rendering) effect:
-Choose LAYER > ADD LAYER > ADD PICTURE LAYER...
-choose MEDIA CHANGE EFFECT....
-select the AdvancedMaterials\PBR effect
-place the colour map in the 1st texture slot
-place the normal map in the 2nd texture slot
-play around with the FX ROUGHNESS, METALNESS prop
The normal map used in this screenshot has been made with FilterForge:

They offer Embroidered presets, but for some reason this Simply Knit works better. So you have to do some experimenting to find out which one works best for you.
