I don't quite get this:

I have some text.
If I press F2 to I get the grid on the screen, and my text is inside - but only when i the show in the editor window - If i go fullscreen, then the start and ends of the text are suddenly outside the screen? How can that be?

Also, if I render it as movie, the text is as it should, all inside the window. Its only when I play back in fullscreen it goes outside? Bug?

Maybe the aspect ratio of your shows does not match the aspect ratio of your monitor.

For example playing a 16:9 show on a 4:3 monitor can create the effect you describe.

Always design for the aspect ratio of the final product!

I do design for the aspect ratio of the final product.
Can't you just scale it so it fits? (so i don't have to render it and play it back in VLC or something like that, where they adjust it so it fits)

For example if you design for 16:9 and play it on a 4:3 monitor part of your show is invisible.

If you want your show to look perfect fullscreen make sure you design in the same aspect ratio as your monitor.

The video resolution is 1280x720 - my desktop is 1280x800 (*)

However CHANGING the desktop resolution to 1280x720 (like the video) it still looks wrong when BluffTitler tries to render it full screen.

(*- rendering it and playing it with say Windows Media Player looks fine.)

So any hints on how to get a 1280x720 project to look ok on a 1280x720 resolution screen???

By settings the resolution to the same aspect ratio of 1280 x 720.
For example: 1280 x 720 or 640 x 360 or 320 x 180.

And make sure the PIXEL ASPECT RATIO is set to 1 (in the FILE > SET SHOW RESOLUTION dialog)

Well thanks, though that is annoying.
I hope you'll have a "Windows media player" display mode in future versions.

Is your desktop resolution really 1280 x 800? This is unusual. I thought you meant 1280 x 720.

If the aspect ratio of your monitor is 16/9 (widescreen) this means that your pixels aren't square. This is not recommended because circles look like ovals with this resolution.

But if this is true, this means that you have to use a pixel aspect ratio of 1.111111 (10:9)

Full settings for the SET SHOW RESOLUTION dialog:

Width in pixels: 1280
Height in pixels: 800
Display aspect ratio: 16:9
Pixel aspect ratio: 1.11111
View: 50%

Yeah I know its unusual, but I have found in an acceptable compromise for the desktop. 720 is too little space (coming originally from 1024x768), and 1080 is too large (I can't read anything).

But the output should be a video standard, hence the 1280x720, ie I shouldn't render it in 800.

What I'd like when going full screen in BT is either that it does like the media players and keep the aspect and then add a black bar at the bottom, or like most games, where they simply switch resolution when they go fullscreen. Of course the latter might add the time it takes for BT go return to a window which is already rather long.
