As a new user of Bluff Titler, I've quickly discovered how powerful this system is, and that you can achieve fantastic results.
BUT ... as you get more advanced in what you start to do ... you quickly want even more ... (we're all greedy like that!)
As developers of the product, Outerspace-Software seem very responsive to user requests, and many requested features have been added to the program.
One thing I see mentioned many times here in the Gallery, and I would like myself, is the ability to control the video layer timeline.
Even just the ability to start a video at a Key Point rather than at the first frame of the show would be a fantastic improvement and make Bluff Titler even more powerful.
Maybe, if other users add their comments and thoughts to this article, it will influence the developers thoughts on this feature.
When I was searching the gallery, I found this article which is very helpful to deal situations where you only have one video playing at a time.
outerspace-software.com...
My fingers now have arthritis from keeping them crossed so long on this feature appearing. :)
Hopefully - considering the relatively less useful audio feature has been upgraded (which is often best left to mixing in an NLE) - the devs/Michel are working on improving this feature next [attempts to cross gnarled digits again].
BT is a stunning program in its price bracket, but i'm also a little stunned that this hasn't yet been added - or at least talked about being added much - by the creators.
Come on Michel - throw us a video-layer-controlling bone!

I'm a little surprised so few people have commented on this.
Maybe if more users expressed their desire for these type of features the developers would consider devoting more resources to providing them.

Have hoped for that feature to be added from the time I bought BT.
Pretty Please!

I am messing with that and i have 25 video sources, and I felt it would make everything too sluggy. So what I've done is use bitmaps for each video (just a number on them) then in BT i scrollback and forth to see where on the timeline i want the picture to appear. And then i go to the video editor and trim of the parts and line it up so it fits.
Say that on video 8 i want a guy slipping on a banana peel, I scroll back and forth on the BT timeline to say 12.123(though I would like if BT could have a real frame counter instead of the 1-999 number).
Then in the editor i remove stuff from my banana peel clip so at 12.123 the guy slips on the banana.
Then at the end I add all the videos and render than, and it works.

Yes, PER, I do very similar.
But it would be SO MUCH easier, if a START TIME could be added to the Video Layer.
Obviously, I don't have any idea of the internal coding structure of the Bluff Titler program, so I don't know how hard or easy it would be to implement, but I think it would assist the usability of the Video Layer tremendously.
Maybe, if BluffTitler needs a "placeholder" from FRAME 0 of the SHOW, until the START TIME of the Video Layer, then possibly it could just use the First Frame of the Video Layer until then.
It would be fantastic if the developers could get this added, as it would save a lot of unnecessary effort outside of BluffTitler.

Per,
I forgot to mention a drawback with your method that I discovered when I was doing something similar and had several video clips that I wanted to start at different times.
You sometimes need to consider the duration of your short clip (like your banana slip)
Maybe originally it was 5 seconds long, but you decide once you do your first render that it really needed to be only 4 seconds, so you change that.
If it was say the 3rd of you 25 videos, you now need to alter all the other 22 of your 25 to correct "their start time" - and you have to do that outside of Bluff Titler.
A simple method that let you alter the start time of each Video Layer would add so much usability for these sort of situations.

Michiel! Michiel! Where are thou Michiel?
Still no official info on this issue/feature request either way, after all this time? [sad face]

Viddy, we both want the same thing. Yes that would be wonderful. Thank you for your suggestions!
