irina1208, Dani and vincent like this!

It may be because I am getting older in years but I just do not understand Reflection Maps and Cube Maps and would be grateful if somebody could point me in the direction of a 'beginner' level tutorial on the subject. It may be that other community member may also benefit, not just me.

Thank you!

Mark

For Reflection maps play around these properties you will get good results. (this not for all the time i use this ,i use these tips accounting to the shows)
1. Bevel ( give value 5, 6, like that)
2. specularity ( give a value like 0.9848 or 1 and observe the difference)
3. Fx lighting factor.( move the slider)
4. Fx Reflection Rotation .( move the slider)

Tip: you can use any pic as Reflection map by change the name "ReflectionMap_Silver" ( ReflectionMap_Bald Runner like this)
This is my little observation only i am still learning, if i am wrong any one please correct me,
i hope you may understand , thank you have a great day sir,

Dani,
India.

All the texture mapping techniques, including reflectionmapping and cubemapping are explained in the user guide.

For every technique there's:
-a screenshot how the texture looks in your paint app
-a screenshot how it looks applied as a texture in BluffTitler
-tips how to create such a texture
-a short list of BluffTitler effects that use this technique

You can find the user guide here:

Realize that these are not BluffTitler specific techniques.

Cubemapping is a standard technique used in all 3D apps. You can find lots of info all over the internet. For example on this Wikipedia page:
