When the pixel size becomes smaller, it is not as detailed as the old version.

I noticed it also. I used the small pixels often as an alternative for the particles and to dissolve the text. it's a pitty.

Use the previous small pixels to bend, the thickness does not scale. Using the current large pixelated bending does not work, it cannot be bent when the thickness is scaled. Bad diagonal and serrated too large, not easy to build.

Smaller pixels means more pixels. The minimum size has been increased to protect the memory use and frame rate. This keeps the app responsive.

I do not understand why you want to use the PIXELS style with the Bender effect. When you want a smooth curve, isn't it better to use the SOLID style? The vector layer is tessellated in high quality mode (choose SETTINGS > HIGH QUALITY). This should give you a smooth shape. Press TAB to switch to wireframe mode to check the tessellation.

This method is often used when constructing, and the lack of pixel size segmentation will render the previous template useless.

Thanks for the test files. I still do not understand why you use the PIXELS style. The SOLID style gives a much rounder result.

The SOLID is too thick, and if you scale the thickness, it affects bending.

The Text\Bender effect only sees the mesh, it does not know which style (or layer type is being used).

Are you sure you switched to high quality mode? Choose SETTINGS > HIGH QUALITY. This tessellates the mesh into smaller triangles, which is important for effects like this. Tessellation is similar to using smaller pixels in the PIXELS style, but is better because it does not break the mesh into squares but keeps the original contours.

Here's a screenshot that demonstrates how important tessellation is. Bending the stem of the letter d goes completely wrong in normal quality, but is perfect in high quality.

Press TAB in the render window to switch to wireframe mode to check the tessellation.

I confirm the selection of the highest quality. EPS does not bend left and right, but in the z-axis direction (FX bending direction X=90,Y=0,Z=0). If the thickness is scaled with solid style, the bending effect is not good. Using pixelation in bending can reduce the thickness of the Z coordinate direction.

Aha! That's because the TEXT SIZE and CHARACTER SIZE props perform sizing AFTER bending. I think what you are looking for is sizing BEFORE bending.

The solution is adding an FX BENDING SIZE prop to the Text\Bender effect. This will be implemented in the next release. Thank you for your request!

Aha, thank you Michelle, that's great!

In version 15.8.1.6, launched today, the Text\Bender effect now has an FX BENDING SIZE property. This resizes the text *before* bending. I think this does what you want.
