shoji M, liuyongcai, Tintin and 6 others like this!

Version 16.7.6, launched today, makes it possible to build phone controlled 3D scoreboards. Update the score on your phone and it's also updated on the big screen!

Demo

For a demo + instructions go to: outerspace-software.com...

How it works

It's basically 3 components:
1) The BluffTitler app that renders the score
2) A web app that edits the score
3) A database that stores the score

For coders only?

At this moment you have to be a coder to build you own custom scoreboard app.

But we could build an app that allows you to make your own custom phone controlled scoreboard in a few clicks.

What do you think?

Download

As always, download the latest version from the download page:

1, A few clicks (or less) would be GREAT!

2. Also a countdown timer on the app.
So I could razz the wife about a coming birthday.
I'm 81 and she's not far behind me.
Would be nice for the great grand kids for
birthday and Christmas count downs.
Could put appropriate images and such in the background.

It's very interesting to control the 3D scoreboard with a mobile phone! A faster response speed is even better.

It would be nice to have a page locally on the PC where you could put the team names and goals.

Could you get the file that is generated by the page?

One of the reasons I bought BT years ago is precisely to be able to use xml. It would be nice to enhance this feature, years ago I made two requests...
1 - outerspace-software.com...
2 - outerspace-software.com...

Thank you all!

SMSgtRod, thank you for the suggestions!

GaspareNet, choose FILE > SAVE SHOW + ALL MEDIA FILES to save the show to your hard disk. This however defeats the point of the demo. It tries to demonstrate the power of server side generated shows. This is a very powerful technique. Much more powerful than XML can ever be.

Hi Michiel,
It would be nice to be able to easily link data feeds to BT texts.
It would be nice to have a personal account and be able to remove/add text fields and easily link them to the BT show.
E.g. I could have a data feed of the weather or football or many other examples and have to make many shows e.g. a video with the weather of Rome, one of Paris etc..

GaspareNet, that's what RSS feeds are for:
en.wikipedia.org...

RSS feeds use the XML format so you can use BluffTitler's dynamic content feature to access them: outerspace-software.com...

For example, when you want to know the current weather in the Netherlands, make a text layer in BluffTitler and copy paste this in its textbox:
xml:https://cdn.knmi.nl/knmi/xml/rss/rss_KNMIverwachtingen.xml?rss/channel/item/title[0]

Hi Michiel,
I used to use this method some time ago, but sometimes some fields are missing and the url of the missing data appears in the video, which is why I cannot use it. That is why I made this request
outerspace-software.com...
Look at the image, in my case some players have the tag "stagione1", "stagione2", others only "stagione1", others also "stagione4", "stagione4" etc... and therefore errors appear in the video

GaspareNet, I tried your feed with a show with 4 text layers using the following texts:
xml:https://gaspare.net/xml/team_s11_c663_cl926.xml?team/player/carriera/stagione1
xml:https://gaspare.net/xml/team_s11_c663_cl926.xml?team/player/carriera/stagione2
xml:https://gaspare.net/xml/team_s11_c663_cl926.xml?team/player/carriera/stagione3
xml:https://gaspare.net/xml/team_s11_c663_cl926.xml?team/player/carriera/stagione4

They all generate 21 loops. The ones that do not exist do not produce an error message but instead are empty. Maybe this is because the 1st loop is never empty. Can you reproduce this?

Note that you can debug your XML in the POOLS tab of the <Ctrl><F1> dialog.

Hi Michiel,
Thanks for the information,
In the next few days I will take an old show of mine and recreate the problem.
