Following the help from Thor5ten, I used Claude AI to recreate a great program called MathSketch by Yousef. Sadly, I don't think he's updated it in years, and am not even sure if he is still active here. My own copies of both v1 and v2 fail to run anymore. But thank you Yousef, for the inspiration, and i hope you appreciate this tribute to your amazing work!

This is a standalone tool to create 3D Vector (EPS) files that can be used by BluffTitler. I tried my best to test all the MathSketch v2 scripts I could find to ensure they all worked. This version allows you to use the script function like the original MathSketch, or simply create multiple 3D shapes directly by adjusting parameters. It features an interactive view, and lot of configuration options. I'm not a strong "math" guy, so I hope it all makes sense and works as planned.

I hope everyone enjoys this, and again thanks to Yousef and Thor5ten for the inspiration!

I was happy to see that the code is readable and also contains helpful comments. Did you instruct Claude to do this?

I also wonder, how did you communicate the "Specialized 3D coordinate path dialect"?

A recreation is a good start. Now develop your own ideas.

The 3D aspect offers so much possibilities. For example by adding tangents you can make very original shapes. On the left is a trefoil rendered with the GEAR style. The tangents point to the centre. On the right, the tangents rotate around the path which gives a totally different effect.

When designing roller coasters you use tangents to make corkscrews/twists. But you can do so much more with it. We only need the tools to build the sketches!

Thanks everyone,

Michiel, I did not specifically ask Claude to add comments, and in fact I'd planned to go back and ask it to explain everything both to me, and with added comments in the code to help me understand better. But, I've realized it's probably above my level of understanding already, so I'll probably not bother.

As far as the 3D coordinate path question, that was quite interesting. At first, I didn't specify much beyond "output as EPS". Claude's first iteration of the app output only 2D EPS files, based on what the viewport was showing at the time of export. When I told Claude to output 3D, it argued that EPS files can not be 3D. So, after I realized the Bixelangelo format is a bit different, I simply gave Claude an example of a 3D EPS I found in some of the MathSketch documentation. Claude even made the connection the "Bixelangelo format" without my prompting!

All in all, I'm amazed at what AI can do alongside my favorite hobby tool, BluffTitler!
Thank you!
