Magic Automa is an app that can automate repetitive tasks in video editing programs such as DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere.

The latest version now also supports BluffTitler!

This video tutorial demonstrates how you can use Magic Automa to automate the creation of multiple lower thirds, with its content loaded from an Excel file.

Looks interesting. But I learn from examples.

Mi sembra una cosa molto macchinosa, almeno per me.

Don't worry—our favorite YouTuber, Franco Aversa, will certainly show us examples and solutions.

Grazie

My issue concerns a new BT project: determining the best effect to use in this case, which functions to employ, and so on.
Does Magic Automa help with this?
Is Magic Automa's merge function more versatile than BT's when there are multiple texts to display simultaneously?

Magic Automa does not offer new features. It only offers a way to automate the existing features. This is done by making and playing macros. It's like having a bot using BluffTitler for you: it clicks on buttons, enters text and selects menu items for you.

The video demonstrates how you can use Magic Automa to export a BluffTitler show as a video file multiple times. And every time with another text. The exact same result can be achieved by manually repeating the same actions: loading a show, changing the texts, clicking on the EXPORT AS VIDEO... button and entering the filename. Magic Automa does all this for you. Much faster and without silly human mistakes.

Michiel has already said it all: Magic Automa offers basic automation for all Windows and Mac applications, providing automation such as an action recorder, keyboard and mouse simulation, and much more. When a software program says it's supported by Magic Automa, it means that custom actions are added for that application directly, either via API, script, or command line.
So, in addition to the 230 action types that Magic Automa already offers for controlling an application,
a series of actions specifically for BlufferTitler have been added.
Magic Automa is a desktop automation app for video creators. Since version 4.5.22 it drives BluffTitler (Windows) directly through its own menu commands and dialogs, not by clicking on the screen: nothing moves, no coordinates, and it works with BluffTitler in any language, even when its window is covered by another one.

These are the 10 BluffTitler actions you can put in a macro, on a button, on a Stream Deck or behind a voice command:

⭐ BluffTitler Replace Fields (data merge)
Write {{NAME}}, {{ROLE}}… in the texts of a show and it becomes a template. Give it an Excel or CSV table and you get one show per row and, if you want, the finished video or picture of each one, named after the first column. Lower thirds for a whole guest list with one button.

BluffTitler Fill Template
Creates a new show from a template, replacing every {{NAME}} with its value. It works on the file, so BluffTitler doesn't even need to be open.

BluffTitler Open Show
Opens a .bt show. If BluffTitler is closed, it starts with that show. You decide in advance what happens to unsaved changes, so a macro never stops on a question.

BluffTitler Save Show
Saves the open show, or saves a copy under a new name (Save show as).

BluffTitler Set Text
Changes the text of any layer of the open show (layers numbered as in BluffTitler's layer list).

BluffTitler Export Video
Exports the open show as a video (e.g. MP4, or AVI with an alpha channel) and waits until BluffTitler has finished. The result reports file, size, resolution, duration and encoder.

BluffTitler Export Picture
Exports the current frame as PNG, JPG, BMP or TIF.

BluffTitler Menu Bar
Runs any command of the BluffTitler menu by its path, e.g. Layer > Add layer > Add text layer. The menu is read, not clicked: nothing opens on screen.

BluffTitler Shortcut
Runs any BluffTitler command by its ID, even the ones without a keyboard shortcut.

BluffTitler UI Control
Reads or changes any control of the BluffTitler windows (sliders, fields, lists of the tool window).

Open Show, Save Show and Shortcut are in the free version of Magic Automa; the others need Magic Automa Studio (there's a 14-day free trial).

And since the exported videos can keep their transparency, another action (DaVinci Import Media) puts them straight onto a track of your DaVinci Resolve timeline, over the interview.
