A little tutorial of mine on VR 360

It might be my computer, but I find that videos exported in 360 lose quality and are a bit jerky.

Hi Vincent, I didn't notice this problem, I exported both 4K and 8K to mp4

Franco,
I did a simple test with a rotating text layer.
1) I uploaded the MP4 output video to YouTube and result is OK.
video : youtube.com...
2) I added the VR 360 layer reexport video and uploaded the new video to YouTube and result is OK.
Video : youtube.com...
3) I applied Spatial Media Metadata Injector.exe to this last video and uploaded the result to YouTube and I noticed a degradation in quality and a slight loss of smoothness.
Video : youtube.com...
I performed these tests at 2560x1440 resolution and 59.94 fps.

Ah ok you mean that it gets worse after the injection... it could be.
But until you apply injector the video is not mapped to the sphere, it is on the sphere
that the resolution is distributed and therefore the part you see on the screen is lower in quality,
for that you have to use high resolutions, so that on the single view the resolution remains high.

Thank YOU Franco for the great tutorial!
The sharpness of a VR 360° video also depends on the field of view (FOV) of the player. A smaller FOV requires a bigger resolution. So you can increase the sharpness by increasing the FOV. In the YouTube web player you can do this with the + and - keys on the numeric pad.
The same trick can be done in BluffTitler with the FIELD OF VIEW prop of the camera layer. If the resolution of the skybox is too low: increase the FOV!
