To celebrate this event, here's a new effect that adds a polka dots costume to your layers.
Update
Since version 17.0.0.4, the Polka dots effect comes with the installer. It can be found in the Effects\ProceduralTextures folder.

Use the FX DOTS SIZE prop to set the size of the dots.
Notice how the dots follow the edges.

The effect can be applied to all layer types, including model layers!
When the 2nd texture is provided (in the MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE... dialog), it is used to colour the dots.

Realize that all the FX props can be animated. And with the VJ dialog when you want to make them loop automatically.
The MIDI option in the VJ dialog can be used to make the dots dance in sync with your live performance. With a keyboard, or by connecting a pitch 2 MIDI converter to your microtonal guitar/bass double-neck!

One question (or request?). Can the dots be made transparent? I was thinking about it looking at PolkaDots10_Plane.bt, and wondering if the plane could be made see through.

Amiga, would an FX TRANSPARENCY prop where you can set the transparency of the background with the 1st slider and the transparency of the dots with the 2nd slider help your project?
