The BluffTitler shows that come with the installer and most gallery uploads use the Arial font.

The reason for this is not because that's such a beautiful font, but because the Arial font is present on all Windows systems. This prevents annoying "could not find font" error messages.

The first thing you should do when starting a new project is pressing F6 (or choosing MEDIA / CHANGE FONT) to choose a nice, original, suitable font. You wil be amazed how a well chosen font can improve the quality of your titles!

Here's an interesting article about the history of Arial:

Although you mention that we should not use ARIAL, there are no recommendations for alternative suitable fonts.

I know that sometimes it's best to use very different fonts, specifically suited to the particular show.

For example, if you make a sci-fi style, then maybe you would use "Terminator" or "Planet Kosmos" or "Star Jedi".

But does anyone have any other suggestions of good fonts for shows?
