I LOVE this feature! Added Sketch Layer using a PNG file with an Invisible effect. Dump the particles to it and attached a flare image with NotLightened_Additive effect.
Not bad for less than 2 minutes work.
Same technic, just put the first one in a container and then duplicated it X3 and changed the size/color

There's a limit to the number of particles the particle layer can render. If you want more, clone the particle layer!

Great tip Michiel. Lowering the Particle Size and duplicating the layer to brighten it up is also the best way I've found to exploit details in some of the finer line art work I've been working with.
